Quantization of the open string on plane - wave limits of dS n × S n and non - commutativity outside branes

چکیده
The open string on the plane-wave limit of dSn × Sn with constant B2 and dilaton background fields is canonically quantized. This entails solving the classical equations of motion for the string, computing the symplectic form, and defining from its inverse the canonical commutation relations. Canonical quantization is proved to be perfectly suited for this task, since the symplectic form is unambiguously defined and non-singular. The string position and the string momentum operators are shown to satisfy equal-time canonical commutation relations. Noticeably the string position operators define non-commutative spaces for all values of the string worldsheet parameter σ, thus extending non-commutativity outside the branes on which the string endpoints may be assumed to move. The Minkowski spacetime limit is smooth and reproduces the results in the literature, in particular non-commutativity gets confined to the endpoints.

Tachyon Condensation and Non-BPS D-branes in a Ramond-Ramond Plane Wave Background
We consider string theory in maximally supersymmetric type IIB plane wave background with constant five form Ramond-Ramond flux (RR plane wave). It is argued that there exists a universal sector of string configurations independent of the null coordinate x such that the space-time action evaluated at such a configuration is same in the RR plane wave and flat background. By naturally assuming it...
متن کاملSymplectic Quantization of Open Strings and Noncommutativity in Branes
We show how to translate boundary conditions into constraints in the symplectic quantization method by an appropriate choice of generalized variables. This way the symplectic quantization of an open string attached to a brane in the presence of an antisymmetric background field reproduces the non commutativity of the brane coordinates.
متن کاملOpen strings in the plane wave background I: Quantization and symmetries
We systematically investigate open strings in the plane wave background of type IIB string theory. We carefully analyze possible boundary conditions for open strings and find static as well as time-dependent branes. The branes fall into equivalence classes depending on whether they are related by the action of target space isometries. In particular static branes localized at the origin of trans...
متن کاملProperties of branes in curved spacetimes
A generic property of curved manifolds is the existence of focal points. We show that branes located at focal points of the geometry satisfy special properties. Examples of backgrounds to which our discussion applies are AdSm×S and plane wave backgrounds. As an example, we show that a pair of AdS2 branes located at the north and south pole of the S5 in AdS5×S are half supersymmetric and that th...
متن کاملA note on half-supersymmetric bound states in M-theory and type IIA
By using O(7, 7) transformations, to deform D6–branes, we obtain half-supersymmetric bound state solutions of type IIA supergravity, containing D6, D4, D2, D0, F1-branes and waves. We lift the solutions to M-theory which gives half-supersymmetric M-theory bound states, e.g. KK6–M5–M5–M5–M2–M2–M2–MW. We also take near horizon limits for the type IIA solutions, which gives supergravity duals of 7...
